Description
Lake among the mountains is an original work created entirely in charcoal on paper (2026, Minusio, Switzerland). Maximum external dimensions, including mat and black frame, are 52 × 72 cm.
The drawing depicts a silent and majestic mountain landscape. In the foreground, the calm surface of the lake opens before the viewer, crossed by a small boat. Slender trees rise on the shores, while a foreground fir grows on the edge of a rock face, becoming a strong vertical element in the composition.
Behind it, a succession of mountains rises to the horizon. The most distant peaks, sketched with light marks and delicate shading, dissolve into the mist; the closer rock faces, however, are defined by more intense contrasts and a texture rich in lines and chiaroscuro. Small birds cross the sky, adding a sense of space, freedom, and movement to the scene.
The charcoal enhances the essential and contemplative character of the landscape, creating a unique atmosphere suspended between realism and imagination. The contrast between the stillness of the water, the verticality of the mountains, and the solitary presence of the trees communicates a sense of balance, reflection, and depth.
The work is presented with a mat and black frame, which enhance the monochromatic drawing and its vertical structure. It is ready to be displayed in a living room, study, hallway, or bedroom.
