Description
“The Forest Suspended over the Cliff” is a small abstract watercolor focusing on a rocky edge overlooking the void, like a landscape fragment emerged from a dream. On semi-rough paper, glazes of gray and blue build a rock face that descends into the depths, soft and almost liquid, while at the top, on a thin strip of land, stands a row of stylized trees, black and green, defined by ink and pencil with a bold graphic stroke. The surrounding space is wide and bright, intentionally left almost empty, so that the isolation of the forest atop the cliff becomes the centerpiece of the composition.
A small flock of birds in flight crosses the clear sky, adding movement to an otherwise suspended and silent scene, where mountains, mists, and clouds seem to merge into a single mass of shaded color. The whole remains open to interpretation: it could be a mountain landscape seen from above, an island emerging from the mist, or simply a memory transformed into an essential image. The 21 x 30 cm format and the combination of watercolor, ink, and pencil make the work intense and concentrated, ideal for those who love inner landscapes, dreamlike atmospheres, and images suspended between figuration and abstraction.
