Description
The peacock in the garden is an original work created in watercolor and pencil on cardstock (2026, Minusio, Switzerland). The maximum outer dimensions, with mat included and without frame, are 30 × 40 cm.
This watercolor on cardstock depicts a peacock in intense blue, upright and proud, at the center of a small garden dotted with red flowers. The elongated body of the bird is built with overlapping washes of light and dark blues, while ink and pencil define the profile of the beak, the focused gaze, and the fan-shaped crest, emphasizing the elegance of the posture. The long tail descends downward like a mantle of compact, luminous feathers, worked with small marks that trace the fine fibers and ocelli, where warm orange glimmers emerge among the blues, evoking precious reflections.
Around it, slender branches with buds and bright red flowers frame the figure, creating a vibrant contrast with the peacock’s blue and suggesting a garden in full bloom. On the ground, tufts of grass and small patches of color complete the setting without weighing it down, maintaining a light, softly blended background that allows the composition to breathe. The 30 × 40 cm format with mat makes the work ready to be framed, ideal as a refined decorative piece to pair with the other peacocks in the series or to display alone as an accent of intense color in the living room, entrance hall, or bedroom.
