Description
“Small Abstract Garden 2” is a small work on canvas board that combines watercolor, acrylic, and ink to create an inner garden made of signs and suggestions rather than literal representations. On a compact square format of 25 x 25 cm, soft and transparent washes of color alternate with more full-bodied areas, where the acrylic introduces varying thicknesses and intensities, as if petals, leaves, and landscape fragments emerge and dissolve in an alternating rhythm. The forms are not described realistically but suggested: curves, spots, small nuclei of color, and ink marks build an abstract “garden” in which the eye is invited to find its own flowers and paths.
The subtle yet decisive ink work introduces a graphic texture that dialogues with the watercolor glazes and acrylic brushstrokes, creating contrasts between sharp lines and blurred transitions. This layering of techniques generates a rich interplay of textures: smoother surfaces and more tactile areas alternate, giving depth to the painting’s small dimensions and making it interesting even at close range. The result is a small contemporary garden, colorful and dynamic, designed as a visual accent capable of bringing a fragment of imaginary nature into any setting, whether alone or paired with other works from the same series.
