Description
The Four Plane Trees – Reflections and Red Flowers is an original work created in watercolor, India ink and pencil on semi-rough paper (2026, Minusio, Switzerland). The maximum outer dimensions, including mat and without frame, are 30 × 40 cm.
The work is a poetic tribute to one of the most recognizable views of the Locarno lakefront. At the center of the composition, the four historic plane trees of the Debarcadero rise with an almost monumental presence, while the dense canopies, rendered with minute strokes, highlight their structure and character.
On the ground, the long reflections of the trees extend toward the viewer like liquid shadows, creating depth and visual engagement. At the base of the plane trees, a line of small red flowers and other carefully rendered details introduces a vibrant chromatic note, guiding the eye toward Lake Maggiore and the mountains in the background. A flock of birds in flight completes the quiet, familiar atmosphere of the place.
