Description
Palms on the Lake at Sunset is an original work created in watercolor and ink on semi-rough paper (2026, Minusio, Switzerland). The maximum external dimensions, including the mat and without a frame, are 21 × 30 cm.
The work portrays a quiet corner of the Ticino lakeside as the daylight softens before evening. The pale blue sky, crossed by soft clouds, fades toward a warm sun that illuminates the scene with a grazing light. Four palms stand out in silhouette: three tall ones with thin, slender trunks, and a shorter one gathered under their protection.
In front of the palms, the lake appears calm and almost still, with slight reflections of the sky’s variations; in the background, the bluish mountains close the horizon. In the lower part of the painting, a terrace with dark balustrades and a few essential architectural elements suggests the lakeside promenade.
Watercolor and ink balance soft shades and sharp outlines, creating a gentle, contemplative atmosphere that invites you to slow down before the quiet of a sunset on Lake Maggiore. Work sold with a mat, without a frame; ready to be framed.
