Description
Small Abstract Garden 16 is an original work created with watercolor, acrylic, and India ink on canvas board with newspaper clippings (2026, Minusio, Switzerland). The maximum dimensions of the work, without matting or frame, are 25 × 25 cm.
In this small square format, marks and suggestions compose an inner garden, evoked rather than represented. The support was prepared by gluing a local newspaper clipping, which surfaces as a trace of reality beneath the layers of color. Soft, transparent washes of color alternate with thicker areas, where acrylic introduces different depths and intensities. Petals, leaves, and landscape fragments seem to emerge and dissolve, giving the viewer the freedom to find personal shapes, flowers, and paths.
The India ink, subtle yet bold, builds a graphic texture that dialogues with the watercolor glazes and acrylic brushstrokes. The layering of techniques creates a rich interplay of textures, alternating smoother surfaces with more tactile, textured areas, adding depth to the small format.
A contemporary abstract garden, colorful and dynamic, designed as a visual accent capable of bringing a fragment of imaginary nature into any setting, whether alone or paired with other works in the series. Work sold without matting or frame.
